Now it's time to say goodbye to your fine company, because this is the last entry in this semester's Wright Challenge! Doctor E wouldn't want you to leave unhappy, so he's asked me to remind you that he will be sending checks for $60, $40 and $20 to the winning Iowa high school or UNI students, along with boffo merchandise, all donated by his pals at University Book and Supply. If that weren't wonderful enough, he's also going to send a handsome certificate, suitable for framing, for all with sufficiently high scores.

The solution to this problem is due on December 15. A correct answer to this fortnight's problem will get 2 puzzle-points. A correct answer to the problem, along with three six-letter words whose letters are in alphabetical order will get 3 puzzle points. (To save you effort, one of the words on this page has the desired property)

A movie theater polls 100 college students, to find out which of the summer blockbusters they have seen. The big movies that summer were:

The Legion of Substitute Heroes III: Matter-Eater-Lad's Revenge
Le Film Avec Un Titre Français.
Friday the Thirteenth XVII: Jason Vs. Buttercup

60 students saw Legion
54 students saw Friday
22 students saw Le Film
30 students saw Legion and Friday
16 students saw Friday and Le Film
20 students saw Legion and Le Film
15 students saw all three films

How many students saw none of the films?

The deadline for sending in solutions has expired.  But feel free to take some time to work on this one, and click here to see the answer.   Alternatively, click here to see the current challenge.
