11 + 12 + 1 + 2 = 26
9 + 10 + 3 + 4 = 26
5 + 6 + 7 + 8 = 26

The total of all the numbers is 78. This cannot be divided evenly into four parts, so it must be divided into three parts of size 26 each. Finding the divisions then proceeds like... uh... proceeds like *ahem* clockwork.

 



A zeugma is a beautiful rhetorical figure in which a single word, especially a verb or an adjective, is applied to two or more nouns when its sense is appropriate to only one of them or to both in different ways.
