Title: Method of Moving Frames
Speaker: Chong-Kyu Han
ABSTRACT
The method of moving frames has been largely developed by Elie Cartan (1869-195
1) and is now a fundamental tool of differential geometry. In this talk I will explain
the basic notions and how this method naturally arose in early 20th century. Cartan's me
thod of moving frames and its variants have many applications. Briefly, I will present a
few of the applications including holomorphic equivalence of real hypersurfaces in comp
lex spaces
and solvability of overdetermined pde systems.
